The Joint Research Laboratory on Applied Artificial Intelligence (JRL-A2I) is a collaborative initiative between Tecnalia, the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM), and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
It brings together experts from diverse fields, such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, and social sciences. By leveraging our collective expertise, we tackle complex real-world challenges and develop practical AI solutions that address societal needs.

Within the groups MATHMODE at UPV/EHU and MATHDES at BCAM (Bilbao, Spain), we are developing novel techniques for solving Partial Differential Equations using Neural Networks that incorporate expert knowledge in Numerical Analysis. The so-called physics-aware neural networks. We offer Ph.D. positions to develop new algorithms, implement them, and apply them to real-life engineering applications.

We are looking for postdoctoral fellows to join the group MATHDES at BCAM (Bilbao, Spain). They will work under the supervision of David Pardo on novel techniques for solving Partial Differential Equations using Neural Networks that incorporate expert knowledge from Numerical Analysis (the so-called physics-informed neural networks).
